Separatist Speeder with Geonosian Warrior

Star Wars - Separatist Speeder with Geonosian Warrior
By Hasbro

Date of Purchase: Nov 2020
Original seller price: RM65
Purchase price: RM50

I'm very happy with my purchase, again, I got a good price for it. For this type of vehicles, anything RM50 and below is a great buy. The tag shows that the seller originally bought it at RM60, so when the seller drop the price to RM50, I didn't negotiate for a lower price.

Here's the back of the box. There's some wear and tear at the corner but overall the box is still in a good condition.

Here's another seller selling at RM75 at Carousell. Now I know this seller very well, have been buying stuff from him more than once and he will never drop his price.

Well, I can't find it in any other online places in Malaysia. So, this is the only one for comparison purposes.

Darth Vader - Saga Legend (SL 06)

Release Date: August 2010
Purchase Date: October 2020
Original Selling Price: RM42
Purchase Price: RM40

Here's a picture of how it looks like after taking out of the box. There's hidden weapon in the box too.

Now for the price. The only one that I am aware off is back in few months ago selling at RM60 or RM80 (can't really remember). I got this from a Facebook seller who willing to let go at RM40. Good price consider the condition of the box.

Apart from the one that i mentioned, I can't find any other seller selling this. Meaning I can't do a comparison of prices here. And I don't compare to Ebay, prices there are ridiculous. So, having saying this, I think this is really seen in Malaysia and this make the figure valuable.

Here's the review on Youtube.

There are 2 types of SL 06 (I'm hoping to get the another too) that I know off. Refer picture below for the other type. It seems like the cards are the same, only the figures are different.

I saw one seller selling this in Carousell but the posting was 2 years ago. I have contacted the seller but no confirmation that this is still available.

Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter - Rebels Class II

Release Date: 2014
Release Date price in US: US$24.99
Purchase Date: 9 November 2020
Original Selling Price: RM99
Purchase Price: RM99

There are many version of Obi-Wan Jedi Starfighter, I can think of 2 main one (the rest is the re-paint and re-packaging):
  1. The Rebels Class II (there's at least 2-3 different type of packaging)
  2. The Vintage Collection (similar to the 30 anniversary, revenge of the sith and Clone Wars)
For the comparison of Jedi Starfighter, I will leave out the Delta 7 version because it is totally different vehicle. I'll show the Delta 7 at the bottom of this blog. So let's look at 1 and 2

The Rebels version is a smaller version compare to the other version and therefore, the price is cheaper:

Here's the price from Carousell Malaysia:

Average retail price is about RM150, for MISB. So RM135 is consider a good price. Well, unless you are like me, search high and low to get the a very good price, if not go for RM135. Or if you have relative leaving in Singapore then check out their Carosell, they go as low as SGD30 (about RM90). If you add the courier services to Malaysia then is expensive.

Surprisingly, there are not manly selling in Malaysia.

Now for the other version, I'll just call it the Vintage Collection version. Here's some of the pictures of different versions within this version:

Here's the price from Carousell Malaysia:

I found about 4 sellers. I believe that the one on the bottom right is from this version due to the landing gear (Rebels version don't have a landing gear). For this version, it is much more expensive. BIB is selling around RM200. Of course, this is the better version, if not the price will not be much higher. Watch the video below.

I can't find anyone selling on Facebook for Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter but there is one guy selling Anakin Jedi Starfighter at RM230 (similar to the top left version - if anyone interested). Unfortunately, Singaporean are selling at higher price with few exception, which selling at more or less at same price.

Here's the tricky part. If you come across something like the picture below, is very hard to tell which version it belongs to. The 2 versions look so similar but the value can be far apart. So is very important to ask clearly before purchase.

AT-TE Diorama Part 2 of 3

The case finally arrived. Huge, heavy and freaking expensive.

Since the diorama is not complete, I just dump the clones on the area that I want it to be 😆

With that, I decided to continue with my diorama.

This will be for the landscape.

Nicely fit

Making the smoke effect.

Apart from the casing, the rest of the materials are cheap stuff. You can either find it on hardware shop or stationary shop. I bought the foam board from Popular book store for less than RM10. They got all size of foam board. Either that or you can find one from trash. Just that you may need to be careful of gems and bacterial.

Next will be applying it with self-make sculptamold

R2-D2 - Saga Legend (SL14)

Release Date: August 2010
Purchase Date: October 2020
Original Selling Price: RM42
Purchase Price: RM40

I wrapped all my Star Wars collection, unless it has been opened.

Some pictures of R2D2 from this series. It makes sounds by pressing on the "belly".

There are insufficient Malaysian seller selling this on the market right now, so I am unable to provide a price comparison. Closet I can get is from Singapore:

Selling at S$10 (about RM30) and at this condition is a very good price (I'm assuming the picture is the actual product). Unfortunately, adding shipping cost will ended up more expensive than the amount that I pay for.

Since there are limited information for me to do price comparison, I'm going to look at US market. Here's the price comparison on Ebay and Amazon (both is in USD).

As you can see, both price is more or less the same, selling at about USD15 (about RM61). So I would say I am buying at reasonable price. In Malaysia, the resell of Star Wars products is about 20% below US market.

So, overall, I think I did ok with the price that I paid.

Millennium Falcon Vintage Collection 2020

15 minutes...that is all it takes for me to decide to buy this big guy. And I almost miss out the opportunity. Back in early August 2020, not many seller was selling this in Malaysia. There is only one toy shop that is selling this at RM2,600. I thought it was too expensive. The Big Millennium Falcon (2008) version is around RM2,000 now. And so I decided to look for the Original Trilogy Collection version. I still don't have a single millennium falcon, as a Star Wars collector I need to have one.

Then come this guy:

RM2,100 or below with deposit of RM200 only. WOW. I rush to Amcorp Mall and book it. Now, I can't wait for it to arrive. In the mean time, I can only afford eating bread 😩

There is another seller selling RM2,488 on Carousell with a deposit of RM1,488

Well, I guess I found the cheapest seller selling this big guy. "finger cross" coz I paid my deposit 😅

Here's a review video:

And here's a comparison between the current version and the original BMF video:

AT-TE Diorama Part 1 of 3

Built this back in August 2020

After I bought my AT-TE (read here on how I hunt for the AT-TE), I decided to make a diorama for it. So I search the web for some inspiration. Unfortunately, I can only found a handful of it yet not of it give me any ideas.

But one of the search on YouTube, brought me to "Bomb Explosion Diorama" check out the video:

So following the steps, I came up with this:

See first picture on top of this blog for the end result. I didn't use the LED light to make the explosion effect looks more real because I don't know how to make one yet. I do know I can learn this from YouTube. Maybe next time, as I am more excited to see the final results of my first Star Wars diorama.

For the paint I used spray paint that cost me about RM7-RM8 per can, here's a sample:

Tips: Make sure you spray the colour outdoor, it has a very strong smell.

Next, I'll be doing the landscape.

AT-TE

Star Wars AT-TE
By Hasbro
I have been hunting for this big guy for a year and it is hard to get one that is in MISB condition and at a good price. The cheapest I can get is about RM850 from a Carousell's seller. That was back in June 2020 but because the seller is in another state, we are unable to complete the trade until Oct 2020, which he did mentioned, if by then I am still interested.

Not long after that, there's another seller on Facebook selling at RM600. It was used and without box. It was snap up very fast.

By then I'm in dilemma on weather to give up on getting MISB. My wife then told me to get one which is out of box so that I can display it. All my other Star Wars toys are in box! She gave me a great idea and I decided to go for it.

I started to search for AT-TE hoping to get a complete set. Within minutes, I found this:

RM550 that come with a complete AT-TE, 19 clones with Obi-Wan Kenobi in clone gear and a Droid Fighter!. What a great hunt!!

I'm going to build a diorama with this.

Y-WING 30TH ANNIVERSARY

STAR WARS - Y-WING 30TH ANNIVERSARY

On 15 July 2020, there a seller selling Y-Wing 30th anniversary for RM600

It was subsequently reduce to RM500 and was sold 5 days later.

So was it a good buy?

Let's see:

Originally the price was RM600 (BIB). When the seller posted online, another person claims that he has MISB and wanted to sell at the same price

Here's another seller on different platform selling at RM650 (MISB)

Well, there's no many seller for Y-Wing 30th Anniversary in 2020. That's all I can find. There are some Trilogy version but it's not cheap either. The Clone War version is cheaper.

So, is it a good buy? Taking into the condition of the box (see below) and assuming the other 2 sellers still selling, at RM500 - I would say is a fair price.

For me (this is my personal choice) I would pay RM600 for MISB but for now is not in my bucket list (and may not be). So I will rather save up for AT-TE, which I have negotiated for RM700.

ATTACK ON HOTH

STAR WARS - ATTACK ON HOTH
By Hasbro

Year Release: 2010
Purchase date: March 2020
Original seller price: RM700
Purchase price: RM450

The seller was originally selling at RM700 due to the MISB condition, the box is still in top condition. I'll put it at 8.5/10

There was another seller selling at around RM400 for BIB condition. Trying to get the best price out of the seller, I told the seller that I got an offer of RM400, instead the seller told me to shop around for the best deal. I know back then the seller is not in hurry to sell, so the conversation ended there.

3 months later, the seller drop the price to RM550.

Sensing the seller is now in a hurry to sell it off, I tried my luck by immediately placed an offer of RM450, a drop of another RM100. To my surprise the seller agreed to the offer. And that is how i sealed the deal.

For a late collector like me, this is a good price. Mind you, a seller is selling Defense on Hoth that come with 2 soldiers, a droid and some guns at RM400. At least you get a AT-ST in Attack on Hoth.

As the date of this post, I can't find any posting selling this either on Carousell or Facebook. There is one that is selling around RM550 back in July 2019 on Facebook but I'm not sure if it is still available.

AT-ACT

STAR WARS AT-ACT
By Hasbro

Purchase date: 3rd quarter 2019
Original seller price: RM800
Purchase price: RM600

My most expensive Star Wars collection so far. It didn't take me long to hunt for the right price simply because it came out not too long ago. I found it on Shopee and after chatting with the seller, I found out she got a shop in Sungai Wang. With that I further negotiate to RM600.

If you are interested, you still can get it at reasonable price of RM700-RM800. I do recommend the seller from Carousell, very nice guy, beside he is selling at the lowest price. Or you can check out the Sungai Wang shop, not sure if they still give you at RM600. No harm asking. Others are selling at RM1,500. I don't think is worth that much, I would rather buy AT-AT at that price.

NABOO STAR SKIFF WITH ANAKIN SKYWALKER

STAR WARS - NABOO STAR SKIFF WITH ANAKIN SKYWALKER
By Hasbro

Date of Purchase: June 2020
Original seller price: RM50
Purchase price: RM40

I found this at Carousell Malaysia website since late 2019 but didn't buy it until yesterday. Mainly because is was not in my list and I was actually looking for another figure and since is from the same seller, I decided to get it.

Seller's post at Carousell

I didn't bargain much, the seller offer RM40 after I asked for his best price. This is in BINB (Brand New In Box). The box is not is great shape, so it can't be classified as MISB, which stand for Mint In Sealed Box. The word "Mint" means in great condition.

I'll rate the condition of the box at 6/10. To ensure it won't deteriorate further, I wrapped it with wrapping paper.

After wrapping

Price from other seller at Carousell is currently selling at RM120, there's some wear and tear on the box, from the picture it looks like the condition is about 7/10. Apart from that, I can't find it from Facebook, Shoppe or Lazada. There's plenty on Ebay but you need to take the shipping cost into consideration, which add up to be above RM200 for a BNIB. But some of the box condition at Ebay can be consider as MISB.
